    Armored vehicles in Brussels

    Armored car hire in Brussels

The capital of the European Union and home of NATO's headquarters. Summits, Council meetings and a diplomatic community that never really pauses.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Self-drive from two days
    • Rates on request

Armored car hire in Brussels with Nero Line is available on request: a certified armored saloon or SUV, at a protection level from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. Brussels hosts the main institutions of the European Union in its European Quarter, NATO's headquarters near the airport and missions and embassies from around the world. During summits, entire districts close to traffic. Rates are on request, and the city is a central point for programmes that continue to Paris, Amsterdam or London.

    The European Quarter

The European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament stand within walking distance of one another around Rond-point Schuman and the Leopold quarter. Permanent representations, think tanks, law firms and lobbying offices fill the surrounding streets.

During European Council summits, much of the quarter closes to traffic and access depends on accreditation. Our drivers plan around the perimeters and agree set-down points that work on the day.

    NATO and the airport side

NATO headquarters stands on the northeastern edge of the city, between the centre and Brussels Airport. Ministerial meetings and summits bring delegations and security arrangements to this side of the city.

Because the airport and NATO are close together, a programme at NATO can start with a short transfer. The driver follows your flight and plans the route around any closures.

Defence ministers' meetings and summits at NATO bring their own closures to the roads between the airport and the city. When they coincide with sessions in the European Quarter, the driver plans each transfer with time in reserve.

Avenue Louise, the south and the neighbours

Avenue Louise and the Sablon hold hotels, boutiques and residences, and Uccle and Rhode-Saint-Genèse in the south of the city are favoured by families and diplomats. The Brussels region has a low emission zone, which is handled as part of the booking.

Antwerp, its port and its diamond quarter are a short drive north. Paris, Amsterdam, Luxembourg and Frankfurt are within a day's drive, and the vehicle can travel with you on a planned route.

Waterloo and the residential suburbs to the south are largely residential, and school runs there follow fixed routines that a driver can vary.

    Frequently asked questions

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.

    How it works

    How a request works

    1. 01

      Tell us the trip

Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
