What the Grand Prix is
The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the oldest and most famous races in motor sport, run on the streets of the principality. The circuit passes the casino, descends to the harbour and runs through the tunnel under the Fairmont hotel, and the yachts in Port Hercule become grandstands.
For guests, the weekend is as much a social event as a sporting one, with receptions on yachts, hospitality on terraces and parties into the night.
Hospitality on terraces and yachts starts early and finishes late, and many guests move between several events in a day, which makes the gaps between sessions the busiest moments for traffic on the roads that stay open.
