Armored vehicles for the World Economic Forum in Davos

Five days in January when Davos hosts heads of state, chief executives and the people around them. Vehicle access is regulated, and the planning starts months before.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Rates on request

Armored vehicles for the World Economic Forum in Davos need planning months ahead, because the Annual Meeting brings more delegations to a small mountain town than its roads were built for. For the 2027 Annual Meeting, 18 to 22 January, Nero Line provides certified armored saloons and SUVs at protection levels from VR4 to VR10, with trained security drivers prepared for winter mountain driving. Vehicle access during the Forum is regulated, so early booking is essential. Rates are on request.

    What the Annual Meeting is

The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting brings government leaders, chief executives, heads of international organisations and civil society figures to Davos each January. Around the official programme at the Congress Centre, hundreds of side events, private dinners and bilateral meetings take place in hotels and chalets across the town.

For a week, a resort of narrow streets becomes one of the most security-conscious places in Europe, with perimeters around the main venues and hotels and a constant flow of delegation vehicles.

    Why booking early is essential

Vehicle access in Davos during the Forum is regulated by the authorities, and early booking is essential.

Requests made months ahead have the widest choice of vehicle class and protection level. As the Forum approaches, options narrow quickly. If you expect to attend, tell us now, even if your plans are not final.

A provisional request is better than none. If your participation depends on an invitation or on your schedule in January, tell us now and confirm later, so the vehicle class and protection level you need can be planned in good time.

    How we plan Forum week

We plan each booking around your accommodation and your programme. The vehicle and driver are positioned in Davos before the Forum begins, and the driver works from your daily schedule, adjusting to closures and changes as the week unfolds. Tell us your hotel or residence, the side events you plan to attend and the days you need the vehicle, so the whole week is planned in one request.

Arrivals at Zurich Airport are planned with the mountain drive in mind, which in January means snow, traffic and longer journey times than the map suggests. You can keep the same vehicle and driver from arrival to departure.

    Event calendar

    Plan around the big events

Summits, congresses and festivals bring road closures and busy arrivals into a few days. These are the dates we plan for.

Nero Line is independent of the event organisers. Event names are used only to describe the dates and places we serve.

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.
