    Armored vehicles in France

    Armored vehicle hire in France

Paris for business and diplomacy, the Riviera for the festivals and the summer, the Alps for the winter. Available on request, planned ahead.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Self-drive from two days
    • Rates on request

Armored vehicle hire in France with Nero Line is available on request: certified armored saloons and SUVs at protection levels from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. The two main destinations are Paris and the Riviera, where Cannes hosts its festivals and congresses and Nice is the arrival point for Monaco and Cap Ferrat. The French Alps around Chamonix and Megève are served together with Geneva. Rates are on request, and more notice helps because the vehicle is positioned for your dates.

    Paris and the Riviera

Paris is the political and business capital, with ministries, embassies, head offices at La Défense and the fashion houses of the 8th arrondissement. Le Bourget, north of the city, is a major business aviation airport.

On the Riviera, Cannes hosts four of the busiest event weeks of the year at the Palais des Festivals, and Nice is the gateway for Monaco, Cap Ferrat and the villas in the hills. The coast is crowded in summer, and planning matters more than distance.

    The French Alps

Chamonix, Megève and Courchevel draw winter visitors from around the world. For the Mont Blanc area, Geneva Airport is the closest major airport, and a stay can combine meetings in Geneva with a chalet across the border.

Heavy armored vehicles on Alpine roads in winter need equipment for snow and a driver trained for winter roads. These programmes can be planned together with any Swiss part of your stay.

Courchevel and Méribel, further south in the Trois Vallées, can be reached from Geneva as well, and a winter stay of several weeks in a chalet is planned as one booking.

    Borders, licences and languages

France borders Spain, Andorra, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium, and the Channel separates it from the United Kingdom. Cross-border programmes are planned with the vehicle staying with you.

Self-drive in France starts with the licence: most high-protection vehicles are above 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass, so category C1 is needed instead of category B. Drivers who speak French and English can be requested, and other languages on request, subject to availability.

    Frequently asked questions

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.

    How it works

    How a request works

    1. 01

      Tell us the trip

Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
