Armored vehicles in Switzerland
Banking cities, diplomatic Geneva, the World Economic Forum and the great winter resorts. Switzerland is Nero Line's second home market.
Armored vehicle hire in Switzerland with Nero Line covers Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Zug and Lugano as well as the mountain resorts of Davos, St. Moritz and Gstaad. We provide certified armored saloons and SUVs at protection levels from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver, and quote in Swiss francs. Switzerland is one of our two home markets, with our Swiss office in Zug, which is an office and not a pick-up point. Mountain and winter roads are part of the planning wherever a route leaves the cities. Rates are on request.
Three ways to book
Every booking starts with the same question: who will be at the wheel. The answer decides the licence, the paperwork and the minimum duration.
An armored vehicle and a trained security driver, by the day or for the length of your stay. Minimum one full day.
Armored vehicle with driverYour professional or security driver takes the vehicle. We check the licence class and identity before handover. Minimum two days.
Self-drive and own driverCongress weeks, summits, festivals and residencies of several weeks. Plan early: around the large events, an early request keeps more choice of vehicle and protection level.
See event datesVehicle classes
We describe classes rather than promise a specific model: the exact vehicle depends on dates, location and protection level, and it is named in your written offer.
S-Class saloons and comparable executive cars. Rear-seat comfort for working on the move, with an appearance close to the standard model.
X5, G-Class and Range Rover class. Higher seating, more room for luggage and a better fit for mountain roads and winter conditions.
On request, for delegations, families or teams who want to travel together in one vehicle.
Protection levels
Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.
| Level | Tested against | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| VR4 | Handguns, up to .44 Magnum. | Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling. |
| VR6 to VR7 | Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating. | Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment. |
| VR9 | Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating. | High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match. |
| VR10 | The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle. | Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times. |

Switzerland brings together three settings for armored travel. Zurich, Zug, Geneva and Lugano are financial centres with private banks, family offices and trading houses. Geneva adds the United Nations and the international organisations. And the mountain resorts add winter stays in chalets, where discretion matters as much as it does at home.
Our Swiss office is in Zug. It is an office rather than a pick-up point, and the vehicle is always positioned where you are: an airport, a hotel, a residence or a venue.
Zurich is the main gateway and a natural start for an Alpine programme. Geneva is the diplomatic city, Basel the city of Art Basel and the pharmaceutical industry, Zug the home of trading houses and holding companies, and Lugano the Italian-speaking south. Davos hosts the World Economic Forum each January, while St. Moritz and Gstaad are the classic winter resorts.
Each has its own page with the airports, routes and practical notes that matter there. Programmes that combine several can be planned as one booking.
Heavy vehicles on mountain passes in winter need experience, equipment for snow and an eye on road conditions. Our drivers plan Alpine routes against the weather on the day. Swiss motorways require a vignette, which is handled as part of the booking.
Switzerland borders Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein, and a programme can cross into any of them. Drivers who speak German, French, Italian or English can be requested, subject to availability. For a self-drive booking in Switzerland, the weight decides the licence: most high-protection vehicles exceed 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass, so the driver needs category C1.

How it works
Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.
We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.
On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.
The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
Discretion
Your name, your programme and your movements stay with the people who need them to deliver the service. Nothing about a booking is published, and we do not use client names for marketing without consent.
If you prefer to formalise this before sharing details, ask for a confidentiality agreement. We sign it before you send names, flight numbers or addresses.
Request
Rates on request. Tell us the essentials and we reply promptly with availability and a written offer. No payment and no commitment at this stage.
