What the festival is
The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prominent events in the film calendar. For twelve days, premieres at the Palais des Festivals, the film market, press events and private parties bring the international film industry and its guests to the Riviera.
Every arrival at the Palais is photographed. Beyond the red carpet, the festival is also a dense calendar of financing meetings, sales and private dinners, often involving people who prefer not to be seen arriving or leaving.
