    Armored car hire in Cannes with Nero Line provides a certified armored saloon or SUV, at a protection level from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. Cannes hosts the Film Festival, MIPIM, Cannes Lions and ILTM at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and during each of them traffic on the Croisette is tightly controlled. Most visitors arrive at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, with Cannes-Mandelieu serving business aviation. Armored vehicles are available on request, and early booking is recommended for event weeks.

    Four event weeks a year

    Cannes is a small town that hosts several of the most visible events on the Riviera. The Film Festival in May, MIPIM for real estate in March, Cannes Lions for advertising in June and ILTM for luxury travel in early December all take place at the Palais des Festivals, at the western end of the Croisette.

    During these weeks, access to the Croisette and the streets around the Palais is restricted, set-down points are allocated and traffic can stand still. We plan each event week with agreed drop-off and waiting positions, and our event pages give the dates and the details.

    The Croisette, the ports and the hills

    The hotels on the Croisette face the bay, with private beaches below and the Palais at one end. The Vieux-Port and Port Pierre Canto berth yachts that serve as offices and party venues during the festivals.

    Behind the town, Super-Cannes, the Californie district and Mougins hold private villas reached by winding roads. Staying there keeps you away from the crowds, with the Croisette reached only for appointments.

    Arriving and moving along the coast

    Nice Côte d'Azur Airport handles most arrivals, and the drive west to Cannes follows the coast or the motorway. Business jets can also use Cannes-Mandelieu, a few minutes from the town.

    Antibes, Nice and Monaco are within reach for dinners and meetings, and Saint-Tropez lies further west. The vehicle and driver can stay with you for a programme that moves along the whole coast.

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

    Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

    Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

    Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

    Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

    Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

    High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

    The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

    Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

    How a request works

      Tell us the trip

      Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

      We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

      On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

      The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.

    An armored vehicle and a trained security driver, by the day or for the length of your stay. Minimum one full day.

    Your professional or security driver takes the vehicle. We check the licence class and identity before handover. Minimum two days.

    Self-drive and own driver

    Events and long-term

    Congress weeks, summits, festivals and residencies of several weeks. Plan early: around the large events, an early request keeps more choice of vehicle and protection level.
