    Armored vehicles in Nice

    Armored vehicles in Nice

The Riviera's main airport, the Promenade des Anglais and the coast from Cap Ferrat to Menton, with Monaco and Italy close by.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Self-drive from two days
    • Rates on request

Armored vehicles in Nice from Nero Line are available on request: a certified armored saloon or SUV, at a protection level from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the arrival point for most of the Riviera, so a programme can start here and continue to Monaco, Cap Ferrat or Cannes. The coastal roads are narrow and busy in summer, and planning matters more than distance. Rates are on request, and a week of notice or more makes positioning straightforward.

    The Riviera's front door

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport sits on the seafront at the western edge of the city. Private and commercial arrivals for Monaco, Cap Ferrat, Cannes and Saint-Tropez pass through it, which makes it the natural starting point for a Riviera programme.

Your driver tracks the flight and waits wherever the airport's rules allow for private or commercial arrivals. From there, the Promenade des Anglais runs along the bay into the city, and the motorway climbs behind it towards Monaco and Italy.

Private flights also use Nice for Saint-Tropez and the villas of the Var, a longer drive west along the coast or the motorway, planned around summer traffic.

Cap Ferrat, Villefranche and the corniches

East of Nice, the coast becomes steep. Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat hold some of the most private villas on the Riviera, reached by narrow roads with few places to stop. Above them, three corniche roads run towards Monaco at different heights, with Èze perched on the middle one.

These roads are beautiful and slow, and in summer they are crowded. The driver chooses the corniche that suits the time of day and plans waiting positions in advance, because there is rarely room to improvise.

    Monaco, Menton and Italy

Monaco is a short drive east, and Nice is the closest airport for a stay in Monaco. Menton marks the last French town before the Italian border, and Sanremo lies just beyond it.

The vehicle can cross into Italy on a planned route. Our Monaco page explains how the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show change traffic along this part of the coast.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.

    How it works

    How a request works

    1. 01

      Tell us the trip

Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
