Life between the villa and the marina
Marbella is a resort, not a business district, and the risks people manage here come from routine. A family staying in a villa for weeks soon eats at the same beach clubs, moors at the same pontoon in Puerto Banús and uses the same coast road every evening. An armored vehicle and a driver who varies timings and approaches take the predictability out of those routines.
Many villas sit in gated estates in the hills: Sierra Blanca above the Golden Mile, and La Zagaleta and the hills of Benahavís further west. Access rules differ from one estate to the next, and our drivers learn them before the first day.
