    Armored vehicles in Amsterdam

    Armored vehicles in Amsterdam

Schiphol, the business towers of Zuidas, hotels on the canals and The Hague's international courts less than an hour away.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Self-drive from two days
    • Rates on request

Armored vehicles in Amsterdam from Nero Line are available on request: a certified armored saloon or SUV, at a protection level from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. Most visitors arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which sits close to Zuidas, the city's business district. The historic canal ring is narrow and crowded with bicycles, so set-down points are planned with care, and a programme can continue to The Hague, seat of the Dutch government and of international courts. Rates are on request.

    Schiphol and Zuidas

Schiphol is one of Europe's largest airports and lies a short drive from Zuidas, the business district in the south of the city, where banks, law firms and corporate head offices stand around the station.

A business programme in Zuidas need not enter the historic centre at all. The driver follows your flight and plans the short run to Zuidas or onward to The Hague.

    The canal ring

The canal ring is Amsterdam's most beautiful district and its most difficult to drive. Streets along the canals are narrow, one-way and shared with bicycles, and stopping places are few.

Our drivers plan the closest practical set-down points for hotels and residences on the canals, and agree waiting positions outside the narrowest streets.

    The Hague and Rotterdam

The Hague, less than an hour away, is the seat of the Dutch government and of international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. Hearings and diplomatic meetings there bring visitors who value discretion.

Rotterdam, with Europe's largest port, is a short drive further south. Brussels and Antwerp are within reach for a cross-border programme.

Many international law firms and corporate advisers in Amsterdam also work on cases heard in The Hague, so a single day can start in Zuidas, continue at a court or an embassy and end with a dinner back in the city. The driver plans the motorway timings between the two cities around rush hour, which is heavy on that route in the morning and the evening.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.

    How it works

    How a request works

    1. 01

      Tell us the trip

Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
