    Armored vehicles in the Netherlands

Armored car hire in the Netherlands

A compact country where Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam are less than an hour apart, each with a different reason to visit.

    • From one full day with driver
    • Self-drive from two days
    • Rates on request

Armored car hire in the Netherlands with Nero Line is available on request: certified armored saloons and SUVs at protection levels from VR4 to VR10, with a trained security driver or for your own licensed driver. The country is compact, so a single programme can cover Amsterdam's business district, The Hague, seat of the Dutch government and of international courts, and the port of Rotterdam. Most visitors arrive at Schiphol. Belgium and Germany are close for cross-border programmes. Rates are on request.

    Three cities, one programme

Amsterdam is the commercial capital, with Zuidas as its business district and the canal ring as its historic heart. The Hague is the seat of government and parliament and hosts international courts and tribunals. Rotterdam is home to Europe's largest port.

Because the distances are short, one programme can combine all three in a few days. The vehicle and driver stay with you throughout, and our Amsterdam page covers the city in detail.

Eindhoven, in the south, is home to a cluster of technology companies and is reached easily from Amsterdam or from Brussels, which makes it easy to add to a programme that crosses the Benelux.

    The Hague and international justice

The Hague's international courts and tribunals draw lawyers, witnesses, delegations and observers from around the world. Hearings can attract intense attention, and arrival and departure are the moments that matter most.

For these visits we plan approaches, set-down points and waiting positions with the court's arrangements in mind, and keep the details to the people who need them.

    Cycling cities, borders and languages

Dutch cities are built around bicycles. Historic centres have narrow streets, one-way systems and many cyclists, and a heavy vehicle has to be driven with patience. Our drivers plan set-down points that keep walks short without forcing the car into streets it should not use.

Belgium and Germany are close. Self-drive in the Netherlands needs the right licence: most high-protection vehicles go beyond 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass, so category C1 rather than category B. Drivers who speak English and Dutch can be requested, and other languages on request, subject to availability.

    Frequently asked questions

    Protection levels

    Protection levels in plain words

Civilian armored vehicles are commonly rated on the VR scale. The higher the number, the heavier the threat the body and glazing are tested against, and the heavier the vehicle becomes.

    VR4

    Handguns, up to .44 Magnum.

Discreet protection for city travel. The lightest class, closest to a standard car in weight and handling.

    VR6 to VR7

Rifles. VR7 corresponds roughly to the former B6 rating.

Suited to executive and diplomatic travel where rifles are part of the risk assessment.

    VR9

Military rifles. Corresponds roughly to the former B7 rating.

High protection for elevated risk profiles. Heavy, with a licence requirement to match.

    VR10

The highest level certified for a civilian vehicle.

Available on request, subject to availability and longer lead times.

Not sure which level fits your trip? Choose "advise me" in the request form and we will recommend one.

    How it works

    How a request works

    1. 01

      Tell us the trip

Dates, cities or route, number of passengers and the protection level you have in mind. A rough plan is enough to start.

    2. 02

      Receive a written offer

We confirm the vehicle class, protection level, driver arrangement and positioning, and send a written offer. Rates are on request and stated in the offer.

    3. 03

      Confirm and verify

On confirmation we complete identity checks, and for self-drive the licence check and the security deposit. A confidentiality agreement can be signed first.

    4. 04

      Handover where you are

The vehicle is positioned to your airport, hotel, residence or venue at the agreed time, with the driver briefed on your programme.
